A Breast conserving surgery resulting in clear margins is critical in order to minimize the risk of recurrence and the need for retreatment. Today, approximately 25% of patients undergoing this procedure require repeat surgeries because the surgeon has no indication during the procedure whether all margins are clear. The ClearCut MRI system is mobile and fully shielded, with no special facility requirements. It is placed in the OR next to the surgeon and provides real-time quantitative information in the form of an intuitive display. The surgeon can instantly identify marginal areas suspected to be malignant and immediately remove the remaining malignant tissue without waiting days for a pathology report.
